The sword was actually made by my boyfriend, Thontos Plasticsmith, out of wood, plastic and MDF board in lots of layers to create the handle based off of a modified pattern by Blind Squirrel props . The blade itself is a single cut of wood. It's pretty heavy so I can't actually wield it one handed, I have to use it two handed like it's meant to be T.T

The result is awesome! But yeah it looks kind of heavy... I'm planning to make a sword I created but I think I'm gonna use less wood as possible... Is it possible to find some pics of the sword creation?

He also has a sword made out of the pink insulation foam which is about the same weight, but much, much bigger, but you need to be super careful that you seal insulation foam completely as it will get dinged up and broken much easier than wood will. All of the progess pictures he took are up on his FB at [link], including where the sword took out a chunk of my hand when we were working on it XD

I just took a look at your pics, the sword standing reversed by itslef proves that is a great work! Congrats to you and your bf!

We have so much fun with it, even though we are missing the center jewel for the pommel. I sometimes hide it places to freak my boyfriend out. It looks terrifying when it is standing on itself like that...It is the reason we named it Soul Edge. I'll be sure to pass along your kind words!

No problem at all. I love helping people with cosplays. If you have any general sword construction questions, I can probably answer them, but anything really specific would need to go to Thontos XD Good luck!
